Ms. Valiente began her career as Special Aid to the Governor of Puerto Rico's Public Policy Advisor. Ms. Valiente then joined the private sector as an accounts supervisor with Comstat Rowland Inc., Puerto Rico's leading public relations firm, where she handled corporate and retail accounts, such as: Johnson & Johnson, Mitsubishi Motors, Procter & Gamble, and Puerto Rico Telephone Company. In 1990, Ms. Valiente returned to government. She became Director of Communications of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, as well as, Head Communications Adviser to the Governor. She led a team of 35 communications professionals. Ms. Valiente traveled with the Governor to Europe, Latin America and the United States to handle the executive's international press affairs. In 1993, Ms. Valiente became the Communications Director for Saatchi & Saatchi's network of advertising agencies in Latin America. Ms. Valiente handled all communications and press affairs for the network, in New York City and through all affiliated agencies in 19 Latin American countries. Ms. Valiente traveled extensively through Latin America, particularly Mexico, Brazil and Peru to coordinate and execute public relations efforts for the network's clients. As an independent communications consultant, Ms. Valiente served clients as varied as the Puerto Rico Tourism Company, The Conservation Trust of Puerto Rico, the Executive Office of the Government of Puerto Rico, the Puerto Rico Budget and Management Office, Mattel, and Wal-Mart. As a political consultant, Ms. Valiente directed media efforts for the Puerto Rico Referendum for Constitutional Rights and the 1993 Puerto Rico Political Status Plebiscite. In 2004, along with strategic leader, Samantha I. Lugo, she co-founded Infinity Strategic Communication Corporation. Ms. Valiente is an Art History major, with a concentration in Mass Media from Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Communications.
